How do you ensure the quality of the raw materials used in production?

Material quality is controlled before cutting begins, not discovered after. We qualify suppliers up front, inspect every incoming lot for weight, composition and colour, and only run certified sustainable materials where a programme calls for them. With a library of 200+ fabrics, most orders draw from cloth we have already vetted, which removes a whole class of incoming risk.

Supplier qualification

• Audited mills - suppliers are assessed for capability and consistency before they enter the approved list.
• Certified materials - GRS and OEKO-TEX certified supply for recycled and low-impact programmes.
• Traceable documentation - mill and batch records back any claim we put on your label.
• Restricted substance compliance - incoming materials screened against market requirements.
• Performance benchmarks - stretch, recovery and pilling checked against the spec, not assumed.

Incoming material inspection

Every lot is checked on arrival: fabric weight against the ordered GSM, composition against the spec, colour against the approved master under a light box, and shrinkage plus pilling tested where the garment demands it. A lot that drifts is rejected or re-dyed before it reaches a cutting table, because a fabric fault found after sewing is a finished garment scrapped, not a roll returned. This is the first of the eight quality checkpoints our production runs through.

Material held to spec

For repeating programmes we hold fabric, trims and elastics against your forecast so supply is buffered rather than re-sourced per order. Because the same lot and specification are reused, a reorder is identical to the original rather than a fresh negotiation with a new mill. That continuity is what lets a brand scale a style across seasons without the colour or handfeel quietly changing.
