A halter tie at the neck carries a deep V front that is gathered into a knot at the centre chest. One horizontal band crosses the back. The knot is the load-bearing detail as well as the look.
Knot Front on a Deep V
The two front panels are drawn together and tied into a single knot at the centre chest, which leaves a deep V above it. Because the knot is tied from the panels rather than applied as a separate bow, the V holds its depth on the wearer instead of opening flat when she moves.
Single Horizontal Back Band
The back is a plain horizontal band under the shoulder blades, with the halter strap set above it. Keeping the back plain is deliberate: the knot is doing the visual work, and a crossing back would compete with it.
Halter Tie at the Neck
